Dr. Randal E. Peters, LMHC is a dedicated professional at The Community Lighthouse, bringing a diverse background in counseling, education, and administration. With experience as a counselor, teacher, university faculty member, and school administrator, Dr. Peters offers a well-rounded perspective on the needs of young people and their families, enhancing his approach to mental health support. He is deeply aligned with TCL’s mission and values and is committed to contributing to its vital role in the community.

With a firm belief in the importance of mental health as a cornerstone of human wellness and development, Dr. Peters has dedicated his career to supporting individuals in achieving personal growth and resilience. He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling/Counselor Education from Indiana University-Bloomington and his Doctor of Education degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Originally from Iowa, Dr. Peters has lived, worked, and studied in several states and countries, including Arizona, Indiana, Wisconsin, Washington, Australia, and Mexico. His broad experiences have shaped his holistic and culturally aware approach to mental health and education.

A former college basketball player and longtime coach, Dr. Peters maintains a love for sports and enjoys watching basketball and other athletics. He and his wife spend much of their free time traveling, working out, and enjoying the outdoors.
